Nadim F. Matta

Nadim is a Managing Partner with Schaffer Consulting. He has consulted with organizations in a wide variety of sectors ranging from financial services to manufacturing to international development. He has worked extensively on accelerating implementation of strategic plans, reducing risks of complex projects, translating strategies into action, and building implementation capacity of organizations. Recent clients include FujiFilm USA, Transamerica Reinsurance, The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, The World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and Zurich Financial Services. Nadim's work with the World Bank focuses on helping developing country Governments apply Schaffer Consulting's "Rapid-Results" approach to complex challenges the country faces - such as increasing agricultural productivity in Nicaragua and fighting HIV/AIDS in Eritrea.

Nadim contributed Chapter 9, "Unleashing Implementation Capacity in Developing Countries", to Schaffer Consulting's book Rapid Results! How 100-Day Projects Build the Capacity for Large-Scale Change (Jossey-Bass, 2005). His publications include "Why Good Projects Fail Anyway", co-authored with Ron Ashkenas (Harvard Business Review, September 2003), "Bridging the Capacity Gap" co-authored with Ron Ashkenas and Jean-Francois Rischard of the World Bank (Leader to Leader, Winter 2002), "From IT Solutions to Business Results", co-authored with Sandy Krieger of the Federal Reserve Bank (Business Horizons, November-December, 2001. Before joining Schaffer Consulting, Nadim oversaw the implementation of the relief and rehabilitation program at the U.S. Agency of International Development in Beirut. As a Save the Children volunteer, he also launched and managed a multi-year food distribution program targeting 100,000 families during the Civil War in Lebanon.

Nadim earned an MBA from the Yale School of Management. He holds a Masters degree in Public Health from the American University of Beirut and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
