Keith E. Michaelson

For more than 20 years, Keith Michaelson has designed and facilitated strategic change efforts and operational turnaround programs with financial services companies and manufacturing businesses. A major focus of his work has been strategic change and operational effectiveness at electric utilities including Consolidated Edison, Public Service of New Hampshire, American Electric Power, and Connecticut Light & Power.

Keith has helped many businesses develop their internal consulting resources and has provided support to staff groups attempting to increase their impact on business results. For many years, he led the Schaffer Consulting High-Impact Consulting skills workshops.

Keith contributed Chapter 10, "Rapid Results Spark Strategic Momentum", to Schaffer Consulting's book Rapid Results! How 100-Day Projects Build the Capacity for Large-Scale Change (Jossey-Bass, 2005). His publications include, "Leadership Development on the Job", co-authored with Katie Beavan and Terry Lockhart (Handbook of Business Strategy, 2003); and "Citigroup Diversity Program Succeeds through Top-Management Involvement and Focus on Results", co-authored with Lynne Fisher, Katie Beavan, and Nadim Matta (Human Resource Management International Digest, Volume 11, Number 1, 2003). His latest articles for the utility industry are "Expect Results in 100 Days" (Electric Perspectives May-June 2005) and "The Aging Workforce Challenge" (Electric Light and Power May-June 2006).

Keith earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Brown University and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
