Harvey A. Thomson, Partner Emeritus

Harvey is a partner emeritus of Schaffer Consulting.

Harvey has worked with senior managers in the public and private sectors, as well as in international and in non-governmental organizations, to plan and carry out organization-wide improvement strategies. He has also worked extensively with staff departments to increase their impact on organizational performance. Harvey has given numerous talks and workshops on goal setting, work planning, management development, and the consulting process.

Harvey contributed Chapter 4, "Gain Rapid Results On Key Goals", to Schaffer Consulting's book Rapid Results! How 100-Day Projects Build the Capacity for Large-Scale Change (Jossey-Bass, 2005). Among his many articles on organizational effectiveness is "Successful Change Programs Begin with Results" (co-authored with Robert Schaffer) which has been one of the most widely reprinted articles from the Harvard Business Review (January-February 1992).

Harvey earned a B.A. in psychology at McGill University, and a Ph.D. in industrial and organizational psychology at Case Western Reserve University. Before joining Schaffer Consulting he was Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at McGill University's Faculty of Management.
