David Murray
David Murray is an affiliate with Schaffer Consulting. He has over 25 years of experience working with
a wide range of industries and managing organizations throughout
the United States, Asia Pacific, and Europe. David is a
proven operations and technology executive with a background
rich in all areas of information technology management,
business operations, large-scale program management, software
engineering, business process re-engineering, product development
lifecycles, and acquisition integration. David has delivered
process improvements, cost reductions, revenue generation,
operational efficiencies, and technology solutions for customers
with a focus on alignment of business and technology.
Transformation leadership became Davids specialty
with such high-profile initiatives as business process development
for lean manufacturing, global supply chain management and
rationalization, M&A technology integration, and enterprise
wide global system deployments. Davids information
technology career included leadership for applications,
infrastructure, information technology outsourcing, and
overall executive information technology leadership for
Applied Materials and JDSU, two high technology companies.
David led Applied Materials GE-style WorkOut program
establishing the internal methodology and competency that
drove the capability for business units to improve the efficiency
and effectiveness of their business processes to deliver
business results. He has recently led major GE-style WorkOut
programs with Wells Fargo, Clorox, AppliedMicro, and HP
with the Haas School of Business MBA students as a part
of their Institute for Business Innovation.
Prior to Applied Materials, David held various information
technology management positions at Lockheed Martin and Cooperative
Computing, Inc. He has served on the Oracle Services Business
CIO Customer Board, the RosettaNet Semiconductor Manufacturing
Board, and on Advisory Boards for start-ups.
David holds a BS degree in Industrial Engineering from
North Carolina State University.
